Unstoppable Pogba wins Europa players of the season


Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was named UEFA Europa League Player of the Season 2016-17, beating partners Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the prize, European soccer's administering body declared in Monaco on Friday.


Pogba, who rejoined United from Juventus a year ago, began each of the 15 games and scored three times in Europe's second-level rivalry to help United lift the trophy without precedent for May.

"I am extremely upbeat to be the first to win the UEFA Europa League Player of the Season grant," the 24-year-old said in an announcement.

"Ideally, the new season will be as effective as the last one for both me and my club. Much obliged to you to such an extent."
