C Ronaldo secures win for Portugal




















The Real Madrid star secures a win for his side against Russia at the FIFA Confederation cup 2017 after a draw in their first match that ended 2-2 against Mexico. The win was a comeback into the tournament for the Portugal team.

Ronaldo scored the only goal in the match 9 minutes into the first half, beating the Russia goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev with a strong header from a close range, thereby keeping his team alive at the ongoing FIFA Confederation cup. The Portuguese player scored his first goal in the tournament and also registered his name on the tournament scorers list.

The Portuguese team is on top of the Group A leaving Russia second on the table till Mexico play against New Zealand tonight to decide which team remains 2nd on the table. The Portugal team will play New Zealand in their next match on Saturday and Russia will play against Mexico in the final group A fixture.
